Women's Squash Upsets #24 Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, CT - The George Washington University women's squash team traveled to Middletown, CT, and competed in the Wesleyan Round-Robin Tournament, facing teams ranked in the top-25 in all three of their matches.

In their opening match, GW fell to #10 Bates College, 9-0. However, they quickly recovered and managed to earn a 6-3 win over #24 Wesleyan. It marked GW's first ever win over the Cardinals. In the deciding game, sophomore Sybil Bunn secured the Colonials' victory with a 3-0 win over Katie Kalatus. The Colonials ended their day with a 9-0 loss to #12 Colby.

George Washington is now 2-4 on the year. In five of their first six matches, they have played a team ranked in the top-25. The Colonial women's squash team will continue play January 26-28 when they travel to South Hadley, MA, to compete in the Mount Holyoke and Smith Invitational.
