Women’s Squash Announced 2017-18 Schedule

WASHINGTON -- George Washington women’s squash head coach Wendy Lawrence has announced that the Colonials will host five matches at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center as part of their 17-match regular-season schedule.

GW returns eights letterwinners from last year’s squad that finished with a final national ranking of No. 12 after competing in the Kurtz Cup (B-Division) at the CSA National Championships.

The Colonials also welcome six newcomers to the roster as they aim to return to the Howe Cup (A-Division) at the CSA National Championship for the second time in program history.

GW will face seven teams that finished in the top 10 of last year’s final CSA National Poll including home matches against No. 3 Trinity (Nov. 18) and No. 4 Princeton (Nov. 19). The Buff and Blue will also visit No. 9 Dartmouth (Dec. 2), No. 7 Cornell (Jan. 19), No. 6 Yale (Jan. 27), No. 8 Colombia (Jan. 28), and No. 10 Drexel (Feb. 9).

Additional home matches include meetings with No. 13 UVA (Nov. 28) and No. 23 Dickinson (Dec. 3).

GW will also visit Navy to take on the junior varsity squad for its season opener on November 11 as well as travel to No. 22 St. Lawrence (Jan. 13), No. 15 Bates (Jan. 14), No. 25 Colby (Jan. 14), No. 14 Williams (Jan. 20), No. 33 Georgetown (Feb. 2), No. 18 Franklin & Marshall (Feb. 3), and No. 16 Middlebury (Feb. 10).
