WASHINGTON - George Washington women's squash freshman Anna Gabriela Porras is competing for her native Colombia at the World Squash Federation's Women's World Team Championships, Nov. 12-17 in Nimes, France.
The top-rated recruit in program history, Porras is returning to the international stage after competing in the World Junior Championships this past summer. This time, she is competing as a member of Colombia's National Team.
Colombia opened pool play against Hong Kong on Monday, falling 3-0. Porras, playing at No. 4, fell in her match 11-5, 11-9, 11-8 to Tong Tsz-Wing. Colombia will also face Nambia and the Czech Republic in the opening round.

She played scholastically at The English School in Bogota, Colombia, where she was voted the Best Colombian Junior three times.
Porras contributed an 11-1, 11-2, 11-3 victory at the No. 1 position in GW's season-opening win over Georgetown on November 3.
