Colonials to Recognize 2011-12 Seniors in Home Finale

2010-11: At the Atlantic 10 Championships, competed in the preliminary heats of the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle events...swam on second-place finishing 400-yard freestyle relay team agains Bucknell...member of 400-yard freestyle relay that finished third against Drexel...helped 200-yard freestyle relay to a second place finish at ODU...swam on the second-place finishing 400-yard freestyle relay at Georgetown...finished 14th in the 100 and 16th in the 50-yard freestyle events at the URI Invitational.

2009-10:At the Atlantic 10 Championships, competed in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle events... named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2008-2009:At the Atlantic 10 Championships, finished 50th in the 50-yard freestyle, 42nd in the 200-yard freestyle and 40th in the 100-yard freestyle events.

High School:Swam for Hillsborough Raiders...captained team her senior year..holds Hillsboro High School swim team record as a leg of the 200-yard free relay team...served as Student Council President and was member of National Honors Society and the Latin Honors Society...recipient of Student Council, Sheridan, CYO and AT&T scholarships...also swam for Somerset Valley YMCA Swim Team for nine years.

Personal:Carolyn Denise Mehrtens...born Oct. 18, 1989, in Trenton, NJ...daughter of Bernadette and Joseph Mehrtens...has one older sister, Bernadette, and three younger siblings, Christina, Joseph and James...majors in criminal justice and psychology, with aspirations to work for the U.S. Federal Government.
