Women's Swimming Concludes Regular Season With Loss at George Mason

FAIRFAX, VA - The George Washington women's swimming & diving team fell to George Mason, 130-84, in GW's regular season finale Saturday afternoon. Junior Lauren Fuchs picked up the only win on the day for the Colonials.

Sophomore Cissey Ye picked up a pair of second place finishes, while sophomore Emily Leik, freshman Noelle Miesfeld, and junior Ariana Berdini earned a second place finish as well.

Fuchs won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:26.88, while Berdini placed second in the event, touching the wall in 2:28.10.

Ye placed second in both the 500-yard and 1000-yard freestyles in times of 5:25.49 and 11:02.72, respectively.

Miesfeld was second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.66) and Leik was second in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:15.59.

Women's swimming & diving is off for 18 days before the Atlantic 10 Championships in Buffalo, NY. This year's conference championships are hosted by St. Bonaventure, Wed-Sat, Feb. 20-23.
