Atlantic 10 Championship Schedule of Events | Atlantic 10 Championship Central

BUFFALO, NY - The George Washington women's swimming team broke a 16-year-old record in the first evening of the 2011 Atlantic 10 Swimming Championships at the Erie Community College pool.

Senior Paola Leor teamed up with freshmen Taylor Cole, Sloan Saunders and Caroline Myers to swim the 800-yard freestyle relay. Together they posted a time of 7:34.01, over a second faster than the 1995 time Stephanie Ballou, Nicole Shelton, Meghan Mitchell and Bambi Bowman swam (7:35.45).

The men's squad took fourth in the 800-yard freestyle by .04 hundredths of a second to wrap up the first night session of the four-day meet. Phillip Graeter, Luke Quimby, Stephen Nelson and Niklas Glenesk posted a time of 6:45.37 in the close finish.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Leor again teamed up with three freshman, Lindsay Moore, Rachael Johnston and Sydney Saunders, to post a time of 1:46.97, for a 10th place finish.

 

 

The men's squad took sixth in the 200-yard medley relay. Alex Etz, Andrew Maguire, Graeter and Marshall Seedorff hit the finish line at 1:32.26.

The second day of the Championships will begin with trials at 10:30 a.m and the finals at 6:30 p.m. The evening session will again have live stats and streaming video.
