Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Complete Day One At A-10 Championships

BUFFALO, NY-- The University of Richmond women and the University of Massachusetts men are the leaders after the first night of competition of the Atlantic 10 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Flickinger Center on the campus of Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y.

The George Washington women's team ended the day in sixth place as Richmond finished atop the leader board with 74 points. St. Bonaventure is in second with 72 points.

The following are the rest of the teams in order of points: Duquesne 60; Massachusetts 56; Xavier 56; George Washington 52; St. Louis 52; Fordham 50; Rhode Island 32; and La Salle 32.

In the men's championship, the Colonials currently stand fifth as Massachusetts finished the night in first place with 115 points, and St. Bonaventure is in second with 114.

The following are the rest of the teams in order of points: La Salle 87; Fordham 62; George Washington 61; Duquesne 60; Xavier 58; Rhode Island 56; and St. Louis 50.

The second of the four day competition is set for Thursday.
