Day One Results

FAIRFAX, Va.- The George Washington women's swimming team sits in fifth place out of eight teams after the opener of the three-day Patriot Invitational. The Colonials collected 129 points on the strength of five top-10 finishes at George Mason's Jim McKay Natatorium.

GW is joined by American, Howard, Seton Hall, Shippensburg, UMBC, UNC Wilmington and host George Mason.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Sloan Saunders, Janica Lee, Sydney Saunders and Morgan Zebleyopened the day with an impressive fourth place finish out of 16 teams with a time of 1:37.24.

Caroline Myersswam a time of 4:58.75 to take home a notable third in the 500-yard freestyle, while Lee placed seventh in the 200-yard individual medley, touching the wall in 2:09.04,

Zebley finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.14 seconds. Her time was just .86 seconds behind UNC Wilmington's first-place finisher.

The 400-yard medley relay team earned fourth out of 16 teams. Lindsay Moore, Lee, Zebley and Sydney Saundersclocked in with a time of 3:52.04.
