WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University men's and women's swimming and diving teams conclude their regular season in preparation for the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships, Saturday, Feb. 2 at George Mason. The head-to-head meet with the Patriots is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.

Despite losses to Army by both the men's and women's squads, last Friday's meet was not without its share of highlights.

Junior David Zenk was named Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Week for his two victories and opening relay leg in a 155-86 loss to the Black Knights. Sophomore Rick Rogers (50-yard freestyle) and freshman Konrad Kopczynski (100-yard freestyle) also won events on the day.

The women fell in the slimmest of margins as the final race of the afternoon decided the meet. Freshman Paola Leor won two individual events (100-yard and 200-yard freestyles) and anchored a victorious 200-yard medley relay along with freshman Caitlin Brewer and juniors Jessica Miga and Ariana Berdini. Berdini also won the 100-yard breaststroke, while junior Emily Leik took the 200-yard IM and freshman Sarah Landry won the 3-meter dive.

The Colonials will have 18 days off following Saturday's meet before the conference championships in Buffalo, NY, Feb. 20-23.
