Women's Swim & Dive's Iman Lee Wins Excellence Award
Junior takes home Baer Award honors
WASHINGTON - George Washington women's swimming and diving junior Iman Lee has earned the prestigious Baer Award for Individual Excellence at the 32nd GW Excellence in Student Life Awards.
The Baer Award for Individual Excellence is bestowed upon a student who has demonstrated integrity and commitment in his or her overall conduct as a member of the campus community, while making a commitment to create a stronger community and enhance student life through a variety of involvements. To be nominated for the award, the student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
"It is a great honor to even be nominated for this award," said Lee. "I was surprised that I won too, given the large number of deserving nominees. Throughout my years here at GW, I've just tried my best to seize as many opportunities as possible.
A 2016-17 team captain, Lee is an exemplary student-athlete on the boards, in the classroom and in the community. Lee's effort to serve her community landed her GW Community Service Student-Athlete of the Month honors in February. Lee's endeavors this year have included taking notes for students in need through GW's Disability Support Services.
Lee looks to carry her desire to have an impact in her community into her future career as an international affairs major with a concentration in global public health.
