GW Swimming Names Mitchell Dalton Assistant Coach

Aug. 27, 2008

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University swimming program has named former James Madison assistant Mitchell Dalton an assistant coach, GW head coach Dan Rhinehart announced Wednesday. A native of Australia, Dalton will assist Rhinehart in all aspects of the Colonials program. Dalton replaces former assistant Nicole Fisher.

A four-year letterwinner and a team captain at James Madison, Dalton swam the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke, as well as the 400IM. He holds top-10 school records in each of those events.

After graduating in 2007, he was hired as an assistant coach at his alma mater. While coaching at JMU, his athletes broke nine school records, had an average team GPA of 3.1 and improved their overall W-L record from 1-9 to 8-4.
