Myers, Neff Garner First A-10 Weekly Honors of Season

WASHINGTON, DC - GW freshmen swimmers Caroline Myers and Spencer Neff were honored this week by the Atlantic 10 after competing against Catholic and American, Oct. 15-16. Myers was named A-10 Women's Swimming Performer of the Week, while Neff was named Men's Rookie Performer of the Week. Myers opened the two-day meet with a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:05.62 for the Colonials. She also won the first event of the second day, 400-yard individual medley, with a time of 4:38.54, and the last event of the day in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:40.75. The Oldsmar, FL. native also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.46. Neff, a native of Gig Harbor, WA, won the 1650-yard freestyle over American and Catholic in 16:40.75. He also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:51.33) and third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.20) for the Colonials. GW swimming will host Bucknell in its first home meet of the 2010-11 season on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Charles E. Smith Center at 1:00 p.m.
