Swimming & Diving to Host Davidson
Colonials set to welcome A-10 foe Saturday
George Washington swimming and diving is back at Charles E. Smith Center Pool on Saturday, hosting Atlantic 10 foe Davidson at 10 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials had last weekend off on the heels of their sweep of Boston College on Oct. 21. The men set a pair of diving records en route to their 185-115 win over the Eagles. They have won both of their dual meets so far this season. The women took 15 of 16 events in their 181-119 victory. They are 3-1 so far.
Peter Nachtwey was honored as A-10 Rookie of the Week for a second time following his record-setting 3-meter diving performance in the win, while Emily Zhang took CollegeSwimming.com A-10 Women’s Swimmer of the Week honors after winning five individual races against Boston College and Marshall that weekend.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON: Davidson is coming off a home split against Georgetown last Saturday. The men won, 176-123, with the women falling 172-120.
The Wildcats finished fifth on the women’s side at last season’s A-10 Championships, one spot ahead of GW. The men placed eighth out of eight teams at the conference meet.
COMING UP: GW heads to Cleveland State’s Magnus Cup from Nov. 17-19. The three-day meet is the final competition of the fall for the men’s team. The women wrap up Dec. 2 with a home meet against Richmond.
