Nov. 30, 2017

George Washington women's swimming and diving wraps up its fall schedule Saturday with a visit from seven-time defending Atlantic 10 champion Richmond. The dual meet at Charles E. Smith Center is set to begin at 10 a.m.

The Colonials enter their final meet of the semester with a 4-1 record in head-to-head competition this season.

LAST TIME OUT: GW placed fifth out of 15 teams at the Magnus Cup Invitational on Nov. 17-19 at Cleveland State. The Colonials showcased their strong freshman class at the three-day meet. Gabriella Arendes and Rachel Dickinson shined in both diving events, while Tali Lemcoff posted a program Top-10 time en route to fourth place in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

GW totaled 432 points in all to improve on last season's sixth-place finish at the Magnus Cup.

SCOUTING RICHMOND: The Spiders scored 570 points at last season's A-10 Championship to edge Duquesne for their seventh straight title and 15th in 16 years.

Richmond was tabbed as the A-10 preseason favorite again this season with individual conference champions Erin Barry, Hannah Gouger and Morgan Soulia back to lead the way. The squad most recently finished sixth out of nine teams at George Mason's Patriot Invitational on Nov. 16-18.

GW and Richmond met in Foggy Bottom last season with the Spiders earning a narrow victory, 150-148.

COMING UP: GW won't compete again until Jan. 13, 2018. The Colonials end their winter break with a crosstown trip to American's Reeves Aquatic Center, where they'll matchup against the host Eagles and Georgetown.
