Women's Tennis Downs Georgetown, 5-2

WASHINGTON, DC - The Colonials women's tennis opened the spring portion of its schedule with a 5-2 victory over Georgetown Wednesday afternoon at Montclair Country Club. GW dispatched the Hoyas by winning five of six singles matches and the No. 2 doubles match. Sophomore Nazli Genscoy (Istanbul, Turkey/Lyree de Galatasaray) won at the No. 2 singles and teamed with senior Katarina Stastny (St. Louis, MO/ St. Joseph's Academy) to capture the No. 2 doubles contest. Sophomore Lindy First (San Diego, CA/La Jolla) won in straight sets at No. 1 singles as did Tracy Wei (Marietta, GA/Walton) at No.3, Natasha Bode (Paradise Valley, AZ/Xavier) at No. 5 and Stastny at No. 6. Next up for the Colonials is James Madison, Feb. 9, in a 4:00 p.m. match at the Mount Vernon Tennis Facility.
