Tyner's Match Gives Colonials the Win over Cal U, 4-3
Colonials Have Little Time to Rest Before Focusing on Delaware

WOODBRIDGE, VA -- The George Washington women's tennis team Saturday match against Division II No. 13 California University of Pennsylvania came down to the No. 6 singles match up between GW's Meg Tyner and Cal U's Galina Vishnikina.
Tyner dropped the first match 6-0, and was down 4-1 in the second match before she came back to win the next five points in the second set, winning 6-4 to force a third set. Tyner carried the momentum into the third set, defeating Vishnikina 6-2.
GW took the doubles point early in the night by sweeping all three matches. In the No. 3 doubles match Jennifer Hirsh and Sasha Gluck powered past Cal U's Mariana Oliveira and Axelle Fernandez to take the match 8-7 (4).
Sophomore captain Jacqueline Corba won both her singles and doubles matches handily over her Cal U opponents.
Freshman Mimi Hamling also won both of her matches of the day, battling to win her No. 2 singles match in three sets, 6-2 5-7 6-1.
The Colonials are back in action at Sunday, Feb. 21, GW hosts Delaware with a 6:30 start at the Elkton (MD) Indoor Tennis Facility.
