GW Women's Tennis Tops Fordham, 4-1, for 2-0 Weekend
Colonials Beat Rams to Open A-10 Action With Consecutive Victories

FLUSHING, N.Y. – George Washington women’s tennis earned a 4-1 win over Fordham on Sunday evening at the indoor USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to open Atlantic 10 play with a 2-0 record.
GW (3-3) earned the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead over Fordham (4-3) and took home singles wins at the Nos. 1, 2 and 6 spots to secure their second straight league match.
The No. 2 doubles duo of sophomore Lana Robins and freshman Grace Egger rolled past Fordham’s Angelika Dabu and Julie Leong, 8-1, and the No. 3 pair of senior Leah Pascarella and sophomore Stephanie Wei earned an 8-2 decision over Bella Genkina and Anika Novacek.
Robins then topped Elliesa Ball, 6-4, 6-2 in No. 1 singles and Pascarella downed Sarah Ali, 7-5, 6-2, in the No. 2 spot. Freshman Grace Egger held Anika Novacek scoreless at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
GW opens home play at the GW Tennis Center on the Mount Vernon Campus on Monday, March 10 when it hosts A-10 foe Saint Louis at 1 p.m.
