Women's Tennis Defeats Howard, 6-1
Colonials Score Five Straight Set Victories

WASHINGTON, DC - The GW Women's Tennis team dropped Howard, 6-1, at the GW-Mount Vernon Tennis Facility on Friday, March 7. The victory improved the Colonials' record to 2-4 on the season.
Junior Lindy First (San Diego, CA/La Jolla) returned to action after a wrist injury to post her first two victories of the season at number six singles and number one doubles with partner, senior Tracy Wei (Marietta, GA/Walton Comprehensive). Sophomore Sevla Gonca (Ankara, Turkey/Bilkent) also posted two victories on the day, one at number four singles and one at number three doubles with partner, junior Nazli Gencsoy (Istanbul, Turkey/Lyree de Galatasaray). Senior Samantha Fisher (Greenwich, CT/The Benjamin School) and sophomore Natasha Bode (Paradise Valley, AZ/Xavier Prep) scored the remaining points for the Colonials with wins at number five and three singles, respectively, and together at number two doubles.
The Colonials will try and make it two in a row on Sunday, March 9 when they take on Mount St. Mary's at the GW-Mount Vernon Tennis Facility at 12:00 p.m.
