FULLERTON, Calif. - The George Washington women's tennis team fell to Cal State Fullerton, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon at the Titan Courts in the first match of the squad's Spring Break swing in California.

The Colonials' (7-3) seven-match winning streak, which dated back to Feb. 10, was snapped with the loss to the Titans (8-8).

Cal State Fullerton opened the match by earning the doubles point and went on to limit GW to two points at the Nos. 3 and 4 singles positions.

Freshman Stephanie Wei rolled to a 6-4, 6-1 victory over the Titans' Monica Rodriguez at the No. 3 singles spot, posting her sixth win in the past seven matches. Senior Mimi Hamling was down 6-1, 4-3 to Emilia Borkowski in the No. 4 match when Borkowski retired, giving Hamling her ninth consecutive victory.

Junior Leah Pascarella fell to Tiffany Mai, 6-1, 6-0, in the first-flight match and freshman Lana Robins dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to Morgan McIntosh in the No. 2 match. Senior Dorota Lysienia fell to Kalika Slevcove at the No. 5 spot, 6-1, 6-1, and junior Isabella Escobar was downed by Megan Sandford, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6.

Hamling and Pascarella fell to Mai and Rodriguez, 8-5, in No. 1 doubles, and Lysienia and Robins fell to McIntosh and Slevcove by an identical score in the No. 2 match. At the No. 3 spot Escobar and Wei were defeated by Borkowski and Sandford, 8-3.

GW travels to face No. 63 UC Santa Barbara on Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET).
