Women's Tennis Falls in Tight 4-3 Match to FGCU
March 14, 2011 TAMPA, FL- George Washington women's tennis fell in a close, 4-3, dual match against Florida Gulf Coast on Monday at the FGCU Tennis Complex. The Colonials took a quick 1-0 lead over the Eagles securing doubles wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 matches. Mimi Hamling and Zoe Krohn won at No. 1 match, 9-7, over Iris Rendon and Bettina Botha. Freshmen Leah Pascarella and Isabella Escobar won, 8-4, at the No. 3 match over Jen Evans and Bibiana Almeida. Junior Jacqueline Corba won at No. 1 singles for the Colonials, 7-5,6-4, over Morgan Bechtel. Sophomore Dorota Lysienia also earned a point for the Colonials, when she won a the No. 5 singles in a three set match, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1, over Almeida. In an exhibition singles match, Escobar defeated Kelly Colbath, 8-0. GW stays in Florida to take on Nova Southeastern on Tuesday, March 15, with matches starting at 1:00 pm. Resutls-
