Women's Tennis Falls to No. 56 Missouri, 7-0

March 21, 2005

MONTCLAIR, VA - The George Washington women's tennis team fell to 56th-ranked Missouri, 7-0, on Sunday, March 20, in a non-conference match at the Montclair Country Club.

"We have all the tools to be successful in these matches, but right now we're lacking the experience and consistency to make it happen," first-year head coach Dawn Buth said.

The Tigers earned the first point of the contest as they swept all three doubles matches.

In singles play, freshman Tracy Stecko (Lake Forest, IL) battled Yelena Olshanskaya at the third spot, but fell 6-3, 7-6 (3). Junior Sandra Simunic (Westerville, OH), meanwhile, faced off against 67th-ranked Katka Sevcikova at first singles, but lost in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

GW (2-5) returns to action when it travels to Princeton, NJ, on Friday, March 25 to take on the Tigers at 3 p.m.
