GW Women's Tennis Falls, 7-0, at VCU
Colonials Head to James Madison for Sunday Morning Match

RICHMOND, Va. – The George Washington women’s tennis team fell to Atlantic 10 foe VCU, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Rams’ Thalhimer Tennis Center.
“We knew the level at which VCU plays and I was proud of how everyone competed today,” said Head Coach Greg Munoz. “If we fight like that for the rest of the season, we are going to be successful.“
The Rams (8-7, 1-0 A-10) won the doubles point at the Nos. 1 and 3 spots. Senior Isabella Escobar and freshman Taylor Nederlander fell to Olga Barscheuskaya and Daria Yakauleva, 8-1, in the No. 1 match, and senior Leah Pascarella and sophomore Stephanie Wei dropped an 8-2 decision to Salome Kvitashvili and Olga Terteac at No. 3.
At No. 1 singles, Pascarella fell to No. 72 Cindy Chala, 6-1, 6-1. Sophomore Lana Robins was defeated by Yakauleva at the No. 2 spot, 6-0, 6-3, and Nederlander lost to Barscheuskaya at No. 3, 6-4, 6-1.
Freshman Allison Hanseen fell to Kvitashvili, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 4 match, Egger dropped a 6-1, 6-0 No. 5 match to Ludivine Burguiere and Escobar fell to Terteac, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 6.
GW heads to James Madison on Sunday for an 11 a.m. match.
