PRINCETON, NJ - The George Washington women's tennis team fell at Princeton, 6-1, in a non-conference match on Friday, March 25, at the Jadwin Gym tennis courts.
"We started out very flat today and Princeton jumped on the opportunity," first-year GW head coach Dawn Buth said. "We have a lot of work to do this next week and in the weeks to come before the Atlantic 10 Championship."
The Tigers gained a 1-0 advantage by sweeping the doubles point, then proceeded to win 5-of-6 singles matches to secure the 6-1 victory.
Junior Anastasia Skavronskaia (Miami, FL/Ransom Everglades) notched the lone win for the Colonials in singles play with a tough 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) triumph over Darcy Robertson at the top spot.
GW (2-6) returns to action when it hosts Atlantic 10 member Richmond on Friday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at the GW-Mount Vernon Tennis Courts.
