Women's Tennis Cruises By Duquesne, 5-2

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's tennis team won its fifth match of the season by defeating Duquesne, 5-2, on Friday, March 26. The Colonials won four of the six singles matches and the doubles point. Both junior Sevla Gonca (Ankara, Turkey/Bilkent) and sophomore Anastasia Skavronskaia (Miami, FL/Ransom Everglades) won singles and doubles matches, while junior Natasha Bode (Paradise Valley, AZ/Xavier Prep) continued her winning ways at number four singles.

GW will have two weeks to prepare for their trip to Harrisonburg, VA on Friday, April 9, when they will take on James Madison.

1. Lindy First (GW) def. Alina Klinova (D), 6-1, 6-3
2. Nazli Gencsoy (GW) lost to Katie Riedinger (D), 6-1, 4-6, 4-6
3. Sandra Simunic (GW) lost to Jackie Hughes (D), 3-6, 5-7
4. Natasha Bode (GW) def. Diana Stein (D), 6-3, 6-2
5. Anastasia Skavronskaia (GW) def. Alicia McNamara (D), 6-0, 6-3
