Women's Tennis Loses Close One to James Madison, 4--3

April 4, 2003

HARRISONBURG, VA - The GW women's tennis team dropped a close match to James Madison, 4-3, on Friday, April 4 in Harrisonburg, VA. The loss drops the Colonials record to 4-8 on the season.

GW got a singles victory from junior Lindy First (San Diego, CA/La Jolla), who is still battling injuries. Sophomore Sevla Gonca (Ankara, Turkey/Bilkent) and senior Samantha Fisher (Greenwich, CT/The Benjamin School) also posted singles wins on the day.

Sophomore Natasha Bode (Paradise Valley, AZ/Xavier Prep) and freshman Estee Bartell (San Diego, CA/Torrey Pines) scored the only doubles point for the Colonials.

The team will look to get back on track when they travel to Philadelphia, PA this weekend, April 12 and 13, to take on Temple and Massachusetts.
