Women's Tennis Falls to Richmond in Semifinals at A-10s
April 9, 2011 CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The George Washington women's tennis team fell to top seed Richmond, 4-0, on Saturday in a semifinal match at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship. In doubles action, the Spiders took the No. 2 and No. 3 matches to secure the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead over the Colonials. Julia Blakeley fell in straight sets at the No. 1 singles match to Helen Cunningham, while Dorota Lysienia and Meg Tyner also fell in straight sets at the No. 5 and No. 6 matches in the loss to Richmond. Matches for Leah Pascarella, Mimi Hamling, and Jennifer Hirsh went unfinished. The Colonials will either take on the No. 2 seed Temple or No. 3 seed Saint Louis for third-place in the Atlantic 10 Conference on Sunday, April 10 at 10:30 am at the Boar's Head Sports Club.
