WASHINGTON -- Coming off of a sweep over Atlantic 10 rival George Mason on Friday evening, the George Washington women's tennis squad continued to dominate in conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (STLC), taking a decisive 5-2 victory over Davidson.

The Colonials continued their momentum from the day before in doubles play, with Maria Siopacha and Melis Bayraktaroglu winning at the No. 1 position before Marie-Louise Decamps and Diana Kussainova were able to clinch the early point at No. 2 with a 7-5 victory.

In singles action, Siopacha, Decamps, and Bayraktaroglu defeated their opponents at Nos. 1, 2, and 4 to secure the GW victory. Freshman Julia Herlogsson also won her match at No. 5 to add to the Colonials 5-2 win.

BROWNING'S BULLETS: "This was an outstanding win today," said head coach Torrie Browning. "We played extremely well in doubles and carried it over to singles. Davidson is a very good team and well coached. I am very proud of the team's effort today. The energy and focus we brought was tremendous. They really deserved this win, especially in warm and windy conditions. We will have a good week of practice and will prepare well for Duquesne. It's our last match before the conference tournament and most importantly, Senior Day where we will honor Marie and Kamilla."
