Women's Tennis Sweeps Saint Joseph's, 4-0

April 16, 2004

WASHINGTON, DC - The fifth-seeded George Washington women's tennis team got off to a great start in the 2004 Atlantic 10 Tournament on Friday, April 16, with a 4-0 victory over Saint Joseph's. The Colonials swept through doubles play and won five of the six singles matches, with the sixth match being halted due to GW securing the winning point.

The Colonials advanced to the quarterfinal round where they will face defending champion Temple at 1:00 p.m. later today.

1. Skavronskaia/Simunic (GW) def. Glodzik/Morrison (SJU) - 8-2
2. Gonca/Gencsoy (GW) def. Savage/Guers (SJU) - 8-1
3. First/Watkins (GW) def. Swanderski/Marisa Donelson (SJU) - 8-0
