GW Women's Tennis Opens Fall with 2-0 Mark at Tiger Classic
The Tiger Classic does not follow standard dual-match scoring, as the teams competed in four singles matches and one doubles match for a total of five possible points. The Colonials (2-0) opened the afternoon with a 3-2 win over crosstown foe Howard. Junior Leah Pascarella earned a 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (6) victory over the Bison’s Katelyn Stokes at the No. 1 singles spot, and due to a small Howard roster, GW won the No. 4 match by default. The duo of senior Mimi Hamling and freshman Lana Robins won the doubles match, 8-2, over the Bison’s Audria Bell and Gabrielle Moxey. The Buff and Blue went on to take care of fellow Atlantic 10 member In doubles action, Pascarella and freshman Egle Jakuciunaite earned an 8-5 win over Saint Josephs’ Kristina Eisenbrand and Lauren Roy. The Colonials return to action at the Tiger Classic on Saturday morning with matches against George Washington 3, Howard 2
