GW Women's Tennis Blanks Indiana (Pa.), George Mason at Tiger Classic
Colonials Wrap Three-Day Tournament on Sunday Morning

TOWSON, Md. – George Washington women’s tennis held Indiana (Pa.) and George Mason scoreless and rolled to consecutive 5-0 victories on Saturday's Day 2 of the Tiger Classic at the Towson Center Tennis Courts.
The Colonials first blanked NCAA Division II's IUP Crimson Hawks, 5-0, as they claimed four out of five matches in straight sets. Hansen defeated IUP’s Abby McCormick, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8, and sophomore Christina Carpenter earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Tanya Timko. Nederlander downed Erika Schnaas, 6-2, 6-1, and sophomore Egle Jakuciunaite beat Sophie Butland, 6-1, 6-3.
Later in the afternoon, GW took care of Atlantic 10 newcomer George Mason, 5-0. Nederlander and Jakuciunaite held the Patriots’ Mina Saygi and Alex Miller scoreless, respectively, with 6-0, 6-0 victories. Carpenter defeated Jamie Cochrane, 6-3, 6-0, and Hansen beat Olivia Lacy-Thompson, 6-3, 7-6 (4).
In doubles, Egger and Robins downed Sofia Santa Maria and Morgan Yang by an 8-3 score.
GW wraps Towson’s three-day Tiger Classic on Sunday with a 9 a.m. match against conference foe Saint Joseph’s followed by an 11 a.m. rematch with IUP.
