Women's Tennis Defeated Host George Mason in 3-2 Tournament

FAIRFAX, VA - The George Washington women's tennis team beat tournament host George Mason, 3-2, Saturday morning, before the rain washed out the afternoon match up against Loyola.

In singles action against Mason, sophomore Jacqui Corba earned the GW point with a straight set victory over Lindsay Gray, 6-2, 6-1.

GW also took both doubles matches in straight sets. Duo Nadia Demidenko and Zoe Krohn won 6-3, 6-0, while Dorota Lysienia and Michele Style won 6-0, 6-3.

The Colonials afternoon match-up against Loyola was rained out and rescheduled for the morning session on Sunday, but Loyola pulled out of the tournament.

GW will now take on Howard in the afternoon session of day two in the George Mason 3-2 Tournament.
