GW Women's Tennis Doubles Teams to Meet in Navy Invite Semifinals
Egger and Robins to Face Carpenter and Wei in A Bracket Semis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Two George Washington women’s tennis doubles teams advanced through Day 1 of the Navy Blue and Gold Invitational and will meet in an A draw semifinal match on Saturday.
The tandem of freshman Grace Egger and sophomore Lana Robins and the sophomore duo of Christina Carpenter and Stephanie Wei both won consecutive matches to reach the semifinals of the A doubles bracket.
Egger and Robins first defeated Sarah Khan and Cara Wirth of James Madison, 8-7 (3), before rolling to an 8-3 quarterfinal victory over Navy’s Sam Droop and Erin Snook.
Carpenter and Wei limited their opponents to five games combined, defeating Towson’s Ayana Dow and Sophie Lesage, 8-3, and Sophia Barnard and Sophie Panarese of Georgetown, 8-2.
Senior Isabella Escobar and rookie Allison Hansen teamed up for a B doubles victory over Michaela Dowd and Anna Richman from William and Mary, 8-2, and reached the semifinal match with an 8-7 (4) win over UMBC's Isabel Aldunate and Madlena Kurasz.
The three-day event will continue on Saturday with singles and doubles action at 9 a.m. at the Midshipmen’s outdoor Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium as well as the indoor Tose Family Tennis Center.
