Women’s Tennis Closes Regional Play on Sunday

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The George Washington women’s tennis team wrapped play at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships on Sunday afternoon at Virginia Tech’s Tennis Center.

Freshman Julia Herlogsson wrapped her weekend with a victory over Laurel Shymansky of Duquesne, 6-2, 4-6, 10-6, in singles consolation play.

Junior Maria Siopacha battled in her consolation match but ultimately fell, 7-6(9), 6-4, to Duquesne’s Julianne Herman.

In doubles action, Herlogsson and senior Marie-Louise Decamps dropped their consolation match to University of Maryland’s Zoe Kulharni and Katsiaryna Yemelyaneka, 8-5.

The Colonials return to Blacksburg, Virginia to close fall play at the three-day Hokie Invitational beginning on November 3.
