Bode and Gencsoy Bow Out Early at the ITA Regionals
Gencsoy Wins the Only Match of the Weekend

BLACKSBURG, VA - Senior Nazli Gencsoy (Istanbul, Turkey/Lycee de Galatasaray) and junior Natasha Bode (Paradise Valley, AZ/Xavier Prep) represented The George Washington University's women's tennis team at the ITA Regional Tournament held at Virginia Tech from Friday, October 24 to Sunday October 26. Gencsoy picked up one victory in the singles bracket, but fell to Alice Suckner of Marshall in the round of 64.
Gencsoy started the tournament off well, defeating Katherine Crandall of Dartmouth in three sets, but was unable to advance any further. Bode also saw singles action in the consolation bracket, but lost in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5.
The two paired in the doubles bracket, but couldn't make it out of the first round. They were beaten by a team from Quinnipiac, 8-6.
The Colonials will now prepare for their spring season and will focus on their first match versus William & Mary on January 18 in Williamsburg, VA.
