WASHINGTON -- George Washington women's tennis sophomore Jacqueline Corba was named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Performer of the Week on Monday afternoon after her strong performance over No. 51 Long Beach State Sunday.

The Greenwich, CT native opened the day with a victory over the 49ers' No. 58 doubles pair Jaklin Alawi and Rachel Manasse 8-7 (14-12) with junior Nadia Demidenko.

Corba, in her first match at the No. 1 spot for the Colonials, defeated the 49ers' top singles player Deborah Armstrong 6-1 6-4 at No. 1 singles.

Corba and the Colonials travel to take on the University of Pennsylvania on Sat. Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. GW then plays at the University of Maryland Sun. Feb. 7 at 9 a.m.
