GW Women's Tennis Hosts Liberty for Friday Matinee

WASHINGTON – George Washington women’s tennis returns to the court on Friday, Feb. 14 when the squad welcomes Liberty to the Wheaton Indoor Tennis Center in Wheaton, Md., for a 12:30 p.m. match.

GW (0-2) returns to action for the first time in two weeks after dropping a narrow, 4-3, match at Navy on Feb. 1. Sophomore Lana Robins went undefeated with a straight-set No. 1 singles win and a No. 1 doubles victory with freshman partner Grace Egger, and was subsequently named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week.

Senior Leah Pascarella is undefeated in singles at 2-0 this spring and is 8-5 overall. Robins owns an overall singles record of 10-5 and is 1-1 through dual-match play, while she and Egger are 9-4 overall in doubles and 1-1 on the young spring season. Rookie Taylor Nederlander owns a team-best mark of 10-4 overall and is 1-1 in dual matches.

Liberty (3-2) comes to GW on a two-match skid, most recently falling to No. 53 Kansas State, 7-0, and Kansas, 5-2, on Feb. 1 and 2. Mariely Hassey is undefeated at No. 3 singles with a 3-0 record this season, while Maria Khval and Belen Rivera are both 4-1 on the year.
