GW's Pascarella Named A-10 Women's Tennis Co-Performer of the Week
Junior Led Colonials to Win over UMBC at No. 1 Singles and Doubles

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington women's tennis junior Leah Pascarella was tabbed Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Co-Performer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
The nod marks the first weekly award of the season for Pascarella, who was also named A-10 Performer of the Week a season ago. The Frankfort, Ill., native shares the honor with senior Judy Li of Duquesne.
Pascarella helped the Colonials (5-2) claim their fourth straight victory with a 5-2 win over UMBC at the Montclair Country Club in Montclair, Va., this past Sunday. In No. 1 singles action, Pascarella held the Retrievers' Isabel Aldunate to just one game as she cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory. The junior then teamed up with senior Mimi Hamling for an 8-1 No. 1 doubles victory over the UMBC pair of Julia Sauer and Josefin Strange-Jonsson.
The junior is now 11-7 in singles play on the year and owns a 3-4 in dual-match record this spring season. She has also won three of her last four singles matches competing in the top spot. The doubles duo of Hamling and Pascarella is now 4-0 this spring.
Pascarella and the Buff and Blue look to make it five in a row when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on Drexel on Saturday, March 2. Action inside the Drexel Armory is slated for 1 p.m.
