Women’s Tennis to Host Morgan State

SERVING FIRST: This Sunday the George Washington women’s tennis squad will host the visiting Morgan State Lady Bears for a 9 a.m. match at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (STLC).

LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials are coming off of a tight loss where the team was edged out 3-4 by No. 39 William & Mary. Junior Maria Siopacha defeated the #86 ranked player in the country and freshman Julia Herlogsson improved to 9-1 in singles play this season.

ABOUT MORGAN STATE: The Lady Bears suffered a 6-1 loss at Navy on Saturday. Although Morgan State put up a fight, its short-handed squad was unable to defeat the Midshipmen in Annapolis.

SERIES HISTORY: The Buff & Blue dominated in nearly every singles and doubles spot to defeat visiting Morgan State, 6-1, at home last spring.
