WASHINGTON -- GW women's tennis freshman Mimi Hamling earned her second conference award of the season this week when she was named Atlantic 10 Co-Performer and Rookie of the Week with Massachusetts' freshman Julia Comas.

Against Temple's Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova at No. 2 singles on Saturday, Hamling took the first set in a tiebreaker, dropped the second and was leading 4-3 in the third when Rukavyshnykova defaulted, giving Hamling the win by a score of 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 4-3 (40-15) defaulted.

Hamling also paired with Zoe Krohn to notch an 8-3 win at the No. 1 doubles position.

In her first spring season with the Colonials, Hamling has collected seven wins and seven losses, all at No. 2 singles.

The Colonials travel to Norfolk, VA to take on James Madison on Saturday, April 10 at 1:30 p.m.
