NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Sophomore Lana Robins was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Co-Performer of the Week after helping George Washington to a pair of comeback wins this weekend, the league announced on Tuesday. She earns a share of the award with Arielle Griffin of Massachusetts.

Robins went unbeaten at the No. 1 singles position as she helped GW (7-5, 4-2 A-10) defeat non-conference foe Xavier and A-10 rival Richmond, both by 4-3 scores. Her top-flight singles bouts were crucial to the Colonials' success in the pair of matches as they dropped the doubles point to both the Musketeers and the Spiders, but fought back to claim four singles victories.

Against Xavier on Friday, the Bellevue, Wash., native battled to defeat Sydney Liggins, 7-5, 7-6 (1), then earned a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Richmond's Melissa Kandinata on Sunday. The win over the Spiders marked the first for the Colonials since 2010 and was the first for any current player in Buff and Blue.

She owns an overall singles record of 16-9 and has gone 7-5 in dual matches this spring. The weekly accolade marks the third of the season for the sophomore standout, who was also tabbed the conference's Performer of the Week on April 4 and Feb. 4.

Robins and GW return to action on Saturday, April 12 at Morgan State. First service in Baltimore, Md., is scheduled for 1 p.m.
