WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington (5-8) has been awarded the eighth seed in the 2007 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship, set to begin Friday, April 20th, at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, PA.

The Colonials will open the tournament at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, and will face off against #9 Rhode Island. In their regular season meeting, the Flyers snuck past GW, 4-3, in Dayton, OH. GW did not play Rhode Island this year. In the first round of last season's A-10 Championships, the Colonials defeated the Rams, 4-0.

The championship game is set for Sunday, April 22nd, at 10:30 a.m. The Women's Tennis Committee selected the tournament's seeding early Tuesday afternoon, taking into consideration head-to-head competition and significant wins, among other qualifiers.
