Women's Tennis Knocks Out Dayton To Finish Fifth At A-10 Championships

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The GW Women's Tennis team won the fifth place match against Dayton, 4-1, at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday, April 19. The Colonials secured their place in the match with a 4-1 victory over Duquesne yesterday, Friday, April 18.

In the match against Dayton, GW got victories from sophomores Natasha Bode (Paradise Valley, AZ/Xavier Prep) and Sevla Gonca (Ankara, Turkey/Bilkent) on their way to the 4-1 victory and fifth place in the tournament. (Match Details To Come)

In yesterday's match versus Duquesne, the Colonials picked up four singles victories on their way to a 4-1 win. Senior Tracy Wei (Marietta, GA/Walton Comprehensive) claimed her lone singles victory of the tournament with a 6-4, 6-2 win at number one. GW also got a victory at number six with a 6-3, 6-2 win by senior Samantha Fisher (Greenwich, CT/The Benjamin School).
