2017 Fall Schedule

WASHINGTON -- George Washington women's tennis is slated to compete in five tournaments this fall, head coach Torrie Browning announced on Thursday.

Each tournament will feature flighted singles and doubles play leading up to the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships, where the Colonials will compete in a tournament format for singles and doubles.

"I am very excited for our fall schedule," said Browning. "All of the tournaments are great competition for our team and will ultimately better prepare us for the spring."

For the second straight season, the Colonials open fall competition at the Bedford Mid-Atlantic Cup from Sept. 15-18. The Buff and Blue will then travel to Wilmington, North Carolina from Sept. 29-Oct. 1 for the UNCW Invite.

GW then heads to Annapolis, Maryland, for the Navy-hosted Blue and Gold Invite (Oct. 6-8) for the third consecutive season before traveling to Blacksburg, Virginia for the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships (Oct. 13-17) hosted by Virginia Tech. The winners from the Regional Championships will earn automatic bids to the ITA/USTA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in November.

The fall season concludes when the Colonials head back to Blacksburg for Virginia Tech's Hokie Invite from Nov. 3-5.

"I am really looking forward to seeing all of the girls in action this fall," said Browning. "Each of them will continue to progress in their games as a result of tougher competition."
