Women’s Tennis Completes Day Two at Seahawk National Invite

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The George Washington women’s tennis squad picked up three doubles wins on the second day of the Seahawk National Invitational on Saturday at the UNCW tennis courts.

The Buff and Blue went 3-1 in doubles play and now stands 5-3 in doubles through two days of the round-robin tournament. Junior Maria Siopacha and Julia Herlogsson led the Colonials with key victories over pairs from Lynchburg College and Penn State. The doubles duo of senior Kamilla Beisenova and junior Victoria Kogan notched a win of its own against Campbell.

In singles play, the Colonials pushed two matches to the 10-point tiebreaker against Coastal Carolina, but ultimately came up short.

GW concludes Seahawk National Invitational action tomorrow, starting at 8 a.m.
