Women’s Tennis Opens Play at Blue and Gold Invite

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The George Washington women’s tennis squad completed the first day of competition at Navy’s Blue and Gold Invitational on Friday.

Senior Marie-Louise Decamps and junior Victoria Kogan went undefeated in doubles action, defeating Olga Ostrovetsky and Maya Haykal from Binghamton, 6-0, and taking a victory over Morgan State’s Peggy Rooke and Kayla Price, 6-3.

In singles play, Decamps fell to Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph of UCONN in extra points in A flight singles (7-6(6), 6-3), while Kogan fell to UCONN’s Jacqueline Lazaro in the C flight (6-3, 6-1).

Tournament play will continue on Saturday with flight champions crowned on Sunday.
