Women’s Tennis Continues Play at Blue and Gold Invite

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The George Washington women’s tennis squad completed Day Two of the Navy-hosted Blue and Gold Invitational on Saturday.

In doubles play, the duo of senior Marie-Louise Decamps and junior Victoria Kogan defeated Navy’s Amanda Cyr and Miranda Deng in the B flight doubles semifinal and will face Aimee Dervishian and Danika Kahatipitiya, also from Navy, for the title on Sunday.

In singles action, senior Kamilla Beisenova fell in the D flight singles quarterfinal to Navy’s Aimee Dervishian, 4-6, 6-3, 10-2.

Decamps dropped her consolation semifinal match, while Kogan defeated George Mason’s Christine McCarthy in the C flight consolation semifinal, 8-0.

The Blue and Gold Invitational wraps up on Sunday.
