GW Women's Tennis to Compete in Navy Blue & Gold Invitational
Colonials Head to Nearby Annapolis, Md., for Three-Day Tournament

WASHINGTON – George Washington women’s tennis returns to action for the first time in over two weeks when it heads to the Navy Blue and Gold Invitational in Annapolis, Md., which runs from Friday – Sunday.
The three-day event will take place at the Midshipmen’s outdoor Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium as well as the indoor Tose Family Tennis Center and features eight teams in addition to GW – Georgetown, Howard, James Madison, Longwood, Mary Washington, host Navy, Towson and UMBC.
The Colonials return to the court for the first time since competing in the Georgetown Classic at the end of September. Senior Leah Pascarella won her second straight Georgetown Classic singles title, defeating teammate sophomore Lana Robins in a three-set tiebreaker in the championship match.
Rookie Taylor Nederlander leads GW on the year with an overall singles record of 6-1, while Pascarella follows with an overall record of 6-2 and Robins owns a mark of 5-2. The doubles duo of Robins and freshman Grace Egger have gone 4-1 thus far on the fall season and sophomore Christina Carpenter and doubles teammate rookie Allison Hansen have produced a record of 3-1.
Action at the Navy Blue and Gold Invitational is set to begin on Friday at 12 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday mornings will have a 9 a.m. start time. The Blue and Gold Invitational consist of A and B doubles brackets as well as A, B, C and D singles draws.
