Box Score

WASHINGTON, DC -- The George Washington volleyball team battled with Towson but the Tigers had a little more firepower and defeated GW, 30-28, 30-28, 30-18 Saturday night in the final match of the GW Volleyball Invitational at GW's Charles E. Smith Athletic Center.

Earlier Saturday, Towson swept Iona while the Colonials swept Delaware State.

As a team, the Tigers hit .276 (55-18-134) compared to GW's .061 (29-22-114). Towson outblocked GW, 13 to 6, including 20 block assists to just four for the Colonials.

A Hoffman kill game Towson its first lead of the game at 17-16 and the Tigers never relinquished its lead throughout the remainder of the game. Game two was played close up to a 6-6 tie before Towson took control for a 10-6 lead.
