Volleyball Swept by No. 8 Pacific, 3-0

STOCKTON, CA (Sept. 7) - The GW volleyball team fell to the 8th-ranked Tigers, 30-11, 30-16, 30-17, in the second match of the Pacific Nike Invitational at Stockton, CA. The Colonials were led by sophomore Lindsay Ochs (Portland, OR) and freshman Britta Stroman (Richfield, MN) with six kills each.

Ochs hit .286 (six kills, 2 errors, 14 attempts) with a block assist while Stroman hit .250 (6k, 2e, 16att) with three digs and a block assist.

Sophomore setter Lauren Dunning (Stockton, CA) had a match-high 14 digs and 16 assists in her return to her hometown.

GW (0-4) hit a season-low -.039 as a team with 35 digs and just three service aces in the 58-minute match. The Colonials had 21 kills in 103 attacks but committed 25 errors.

Pacific (6-1) was led by Jennifer Joines (14 kills, 10 blocks) and Jamie Hamm's 13 digs. The Tigers were dominant in every phase of the match hitting .373 with 51 kills, 11 service aces, 55 digs and 24 block assists.

The trip to Stockton represents a homecoming for Dunning and head coach Jojit Coronel. Dunning attended Stockton's St. Mary's High School while playing for the Vision Volleyball Club. Coronel spent five seasons as the assistant coach for the Pacific men's volleyball team.

The Colonials look for their first victory against Northwestern Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) and Connecticut at 8:00 p.m. (EDT), both at Pacific's A.G. Spanos Center.
