Volleyball Coasts Past Morgan State, 3-0, at GW Invitational

Final Stats

WASHINGTON, DC - Freshman Shannon Parks (Marietta, GA/Walton) hit .526 with 10 kills and no errors in 19 swings to lead GW past Morgan State, 30-24, 30-15, 30-19, Saturday in the GW Invitational at Smith Center. It marked GW's fifth straight victory.

Junior Ruth Lazzari (Seal Beach, CA/Connelly) led all players with 11 kills and added 17 digs.

The Colonials combined to hit .246 as a team with 44 kills compared to 27 kills for the Bears who combined to hit .029.

Morgan State (0-6) was led by Tiffany Oliver's seven kills and Yolanda McGirt's 15 digs.

The two-day GW Invitational concludes Saturday at Smith Center when the Colonials play Rutgers at 5:00 p.m.
